The other day I was flipping through some TV channels and landed on NBC’s cancelled show Crossing Jordan. One thing I noticed, along with a lot of other TV shows and movies that come out of Hollywood, is that any computer activity included in the presentations are represented with snazzy beeps and boops. Its 2008 and we’re still treating computers like futuristic machines? Why should medical examiners have machines that have beeps and buzzes from hitting enter? Why the heck is the activity of a page loading from the Internet indicated by a long slur of electronic bells?
Seriously, in this age of the Internet, it just seems tacky. My computer sure as heck doesn’t beep from me hitting the “Publish” button on this page…
